The Stranger

The night silently sneaks in
Holding your secrets deep within
Your heart pounds as you hide in the night
Afraid of what you might feel, even though it feels so right
The corners of your shattered heart try to mend
All you were looking for was a warm, compassionate friend
The darkness hides you from his view
You want to run to him, this is all so new
Silently the tears spring to your eyes, wanting to hold
you a prisoner, but you don't want too, not this time
The stranger approaches as your shadow is revealed
You don't know what to say, his words don't seem
real
The night moves fast as shadows embrace
The alarm clock rings and the stranger leaves without a
trace
