was darkness in that room of hers ...
didn't hear the echoes
of those that came before him ...

She would leave him
bare and wasted
.. by morning ...

on the pillows beside his head ...
didn't taste the hunger
of those who had already been there ..

She would keep him
splayed and tempered
... throughout the night ...

He didn't know it then ...
Didn't know that there had been
a trail of sin upon her sheets ...
didn't smell them on her skin ...

She would leave him
without mercy,
haunting him
.. in the days that followed ...

He didn't know it then ...
Didn't know that he had been prey ...

Didn't know that he had been the hunted ...
